WENDOVER 2025
Inclement weather didn’t dampen the entry for the recent Southern Lizard Canary Show at Wendover. This year the club reverted to having two judges John Martin and John Record.
Derbyshire Exhibitor Ray Anthony benched best Lizard in show with a very steady tight feathered Clear Cap Gold cock, a fine example of an exhibition Lizard Canary. Ray also bagged two further firsts a non cap gold cock and a broken Cap gold cock, the former being awarded second best in show. Third best in show was a dark feathered broken cap Silver cock staged by Carlos De Santha Ana, yet another quality bird from his stud. Fourth best was Andy Beesley’s non cap Gold hen. A Lovely bird from the rapidly improving team from the West Midlands. Andy had further success winning the broken cap gold hen class. Fifth best went to the father and son partnership of Nigel & Danny Higgins with a Clear cap Silver cock, a lovely bird that caught the eye when judged. Mention must be made of this partnership whos birds showed consistency throughout their team winning six classes. A great achievement.
Best Novice went to Dave Penney and best non colour fed to Bob Sneedon. Well done to both. Thanks to all those who exhibited, thank you for your support. Next years show will be at a new venue Weston Turville Village Hall on Saturday 21st November. Details regarding the club can be found at southernlizard.co.uk or by messaging clubs facebook page: Southern Lizard Canary Club. Secretary is John Record
