Southern Lizard Canary Club 2015 Open Show

The 16th Annual SLCC show proved to be the year of the Novice writes SLCC Secretary John Record. Novice exhibitor Wayne Elton staged best, fourth and fifth Best Exhibits and best non cap in show. Second best in show was a clear cap gold hen from Stan Bolton. A Clear Cap Gold cock benched by Gary McCarthy completed the premier awards by taking fifth best in show. By the day belonged to Wayne Elton from Leicester, his best in show a wonderful clear cap gold cock displayed all the qualities required in a top Lizard Canary, depth of colour lovely cap and regular distinct spangles. His third best, a broken cap silver cock fully deserved to be in the final placings, nice colour and superb feather quality. The fourth best in show another from the Elton stud, a broken cap Gold hen could on another day have been pushing for best, lovely spangles and rowings made this canary worthy of its high placing. Fifth best in show, a clear cap gold cock was staged by champion exhibitor Gary McCarthy, a lovely dark bird that stood out. Other Class winners were D Richmond, J Record, H Slater, J Martin and Riddle & Page. The Judge was David Allen and the lunches were supplied by Helen Carter.
